Paris Attraction & Museum Ticket Price Guide
Official ticket prices and booking sites for Paris's main sights and museums — the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Versailles, the Musée d'Orsay and more — and how to avoid reseller markups.
What to know before you book
Official prices, two different systems
The Eiffel Tower (toureiffel.paris) uses tiered pricing by access level: stairs to 2nd floor €14.80, lift to 2nd floor €23.50, stairs+lift to summit €28.00, lift to summit €36.70. The Louvre (tickets.louvre.fr) charges a flat general-admission rate that became two-tiered on January 14, 2026: €22 for EU/EEA residents, €32 for everyone else.
Cross-verified across multiple independent 2026 pricing guides — both official domains returned HTTP 403 to direct fetch, so treat as high-confidence but not primary-fetched; spot-check before publishing exact figures.
Both genuinely sell out — book ahead
Eiffel Tower e-tickets release on a rolling window — up to 60 days ahead for lift access, roughly 30-40 days for stairs. The Louvre releases timed-entry slots about 90 days ahead. Both routinely run out of same-day capacity in high season (June-September, school holidays), which is exactly the gap resellers exploit.

A documented reseller markup — the Which? investigation
UK consumer group Which? (August 8, 2025) found Viator-listed resellers charging triple the official Eiffel Tower price (£31 official vs. £93 via one reseller) and more than double for the Louvre (£19 vs. £40 via another), for tickets identical to the official ones with no added benefit beyond someone else standing in the booking queue for you. Which? notes there's no EU law banning ticket markups.

A more serious scandal, useful as context
French police arrested 9 people in February 2026 — including 2 Louvre employees and 2 tour guides — over a ticket-reuse/bribery fraud ring that allegedly ran for a decade and cost the museum an estimated $12 million, funneling up to 20 fraudulent tour groups a day through the museum. This isn't a tourist-facing scam, but it shows how exploitable ticket scarcity is at both sites; the Eiffel Tower's own site separately publishes a scam warning about counterfeit tickets and fake look-alike booking sites.
