Barcelona's go-to option is the T-casual, a rechargeable card loaded with ten rides across metro, bus, and tram that you buy or top up at any TMB machine inside a metro station. It isn't strictly personal, so a couple or small group can pass one T-casual back and forth between them — just not tap it twice for two people entering together on the same ride. If you're staying a few days and moving around constantly, the Hola Barcelona card tends to be the better deal, since it gives unlimited rides for a set block of hours and, unlike the T-casual, also covers the metro line out to the airport without an extra surcharge.
