Singapore makes this easy: pick up a stored-value EZ-Link card at any station, or simply tap the contactless bank card you already carry (Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, or Google Pay) straight through the SimplyGo readers on both MRT and buses, with foreign cards only picking up a small daily admin fee. The Singapore Tourist Pass sounds tempting, but it only really pays off once you're taking around eight or more rides in a single day, so for a normal sightseeing pace, paying per ride works out cheaper. One easy trap: the Tourist Pass doesn't cover the Sentosa Express monorail, so keep separate fare on hand for that.
