Busan is at its best in late spring (around May) and early autumn (September–October); summer brings monsoon rain from late June into July and then a hot, sticky, typhoon-prone August when Haeundae Beach gets genuinely packed. Sights are spread east to west along the coast rather than clustered in one walkable core — Haeundae and Gwangalli sit on one side of the city, Gamcheon Culture Village, Nampo-dong, and Jagalchi Market on the other — so it's more efficient to group a day's plans by neighborhood than to bounce between them, even though the subway and coastal sightseeing buses connect all of it. The Visit Busan Pass, sold to foreign visitors as either a time-based pass or a pick-a-number-of-attractions option, is worth it mainly if you're confident you'll actually visit several of its paid attractions within the window; without a fairly firm plan, it's easy to end up not using enough of it to break even.
