Taxi Fare Estimator

Pick a departure and arrival subway station to estimate the fare and travel time.

Practical tips

Mumbai's black-and-yellow kaali-peeli taxis are everywhere, run on a real meter, and can be flagged down on the street, picked up at a rank, or booked in advance almost as easily as opening an app. Ola and Uber are just as popular, and as of late 2025 both were directed to switch to the same city-regulated per-kilometer fare as the kaali-peeli taxis, so picking an app purely to dodge a higher official rate doesn't really work the way it used to. At the airport, skip anyone soliciting you inside the terminal and use the official MIAL prepaid taxi counter in the arrivals hall instead, where you pay a fixed rate up front and get a receipt with the driver's details before boarding. Tipping isn't expected, but rounding the fare up to the nearest convenient note, or adding a little extra if the driver helps with luggage, is the normal local courtesy.
