Onsen Prices by Region

Admission prices for hot-spring bathhouses in Japan's dedicated onsen towns — grouped by budget, mid-range, and premium tier.

Area Guide

Kinosaki

A compact, walkable town built around a single custom: visiting all 7 of its separately-run bathhouses in a rented yukata and wooden geta, rather than just bathing at your own ryokan.

  • The town frames itself as "one big ryokan": the station is the entrance, the street is the hallway, your inn is your room, and the bathhouses are the shared baths — all 7 sit within about a 15-minute walk of each other along the willow-lined Otani River.
  • Sotoyu-meguri (bathhouse-hopping) is considered approachable even for first-timers — most visitors change into yukata at their ryokan and walk the town in them for the whole stay, not just for bathing.

Budget

Single Bathhouse Admission (Sotoyu)

Pay-per-visit entry to any one of Kinosaki's 7 separately-run public bathhouses, each with its own architecture and legend.

Price¥800

Adult ¥800, child ¥400 each, per Toyooka City's 2023 fee revision — official source. Note: Sato-no-yu has been closed since March 2024 for reconstruction, expected to reopen in FY2028.

Mid-Range

"Yumepa" All-Day Pass

Same-day unlimited entry to all 7 of Kinosaki's external bathhouses — the standard way to do a full sotoyu-meguri circuit.

Price¥1,500

Adult ¥1,500, child ¥750 — becomes cheaper than paying per-visit once you use it at 2 or more bathhouses. Cross-checked across multiple travel-info sites; town's tourism-association page confirms the same 7-bathhouse coverage.
