Entry is no longer free. The official ticket office lists €12 for the basilica; combined tickets with the Pala d'Oro or the Museum and Loggia dei Cavalli run to about €24, and a full ticket around €30. Walk-up prices bought on site are lower but the queue is long. Verify the current tariff before you go.
