Booking tips before you go
Geneva's free and near-free sights
The Jet d'Eau and the permanent collections of the Musée d'art et d'histoire are free, the CERN Science Gateway is free with registration, and the Bains des Pâquis baths cost only CHF 2 for adults. That leaves paid tickets mainly for the UN tour (CHF 25), the Red Cross Museum (CHF 15), the Patek Philippe Museum (CHF 10) and the cathedral towers (CHF 7).

Geneva City Pass or Swiss Travel Pass?
The Red Cross Museum accepts both passes for free entry, and every Swiss Travel Pass (3 days CHF 254, 4 days CHF 309 for adults in 2nd class) includes the Swiss Museum Pass with 500+ museums. The Geneva City Pass instead bundles local extras: on the official page the Geneva Tour cruise (CHF 20), the Reformation Museum (CHF 13), a pedal boat (CHF 16) and the Salève cable car are free. For a Geneva-only stay, add up the items you will really use against the live pass price before buying.

Book early, and ignore outdated prices
UN Geneva releases next month's individual tour dates on its booking platform on the 20th of each month and they sell out fast, and CERN limits guided tours to about 10% of visitors, so plan both ahead. Many guides still quote CHF 15 for the UN tour and CHF 5 for the cathedral towers, but the operators now list CHF 25 and CHF 7. The Patek Philippe Museum is closed Mondays and opens only from 2 pm on weekdays and Sundays.

Prices come from each attraction's official booking site where it could be read; otherwise they are cross-checked against independent 2026 sources, and each item's note says which. Re-check the official site for the current price before booking.
Patek Philippe Museum

Adult ticket; CHF 7 for students aged 18–25, AVS/AI and unemployed visitors, and free under 18. Open Tuesday–Sunday (Tue–Fri and Sun 2–6 pm, Sat 10 am–6 pm), closed Mondays, with a free audio guide against an ID deposit. Price read on the official site.

CERN Science Gateway
FreeFree exhibitions, registration required
Admission is free but registration is required: CERN recommends registering online up to a month ahead, which guarantees entry (on-site registration depends on availability). Guided tours and lab workshops are reserved on site only 2 h / 1 h before they start and only about 10% of visitors get a place; exhibitions run Tuesday–Sunday and under-16s need an adult.

Palais des Nations (UN Geneva) Guided Tour

New dates are released on the booking platform on the 20th of each month for the following month and individual slots sell out fast; bring a valid passport or Schengen ID card, and note the route may change because of the ongoing renovation. International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum

Combined adult ticket for the permanent and temporary exhibitions (reduced CHF 10; audio guide CHF 2). Free with the Swiss Travel Pass, Swiss Museum Pass or Geneva City Pass; open Tuesday–Sunday 10 am–5 pm (Thursday until 8 pm), and the permanent exhibition is being renewed in stages from 2026 to 2028 while the museum stays open. Bains des Pâquis
CHF 2 / CHF 22 spaLakeside baths, sauna and hammam
Entry to the baths and lake is CHF 2 for adults 16+ (CHF 1 for children and AVS/AI); the sauna, steam room and Turkish bath area is a separate CHF 22 ticket (CHF 15 on Mondays). The 2026/27 spa season runs 20 September 2026 to 23 May 2027 and synthetic swimwear is no longer allowed in the saunas from September 2026. Price read on the official site.

CGN Geneva Tour Lake Cruise

Loop cruise from the Geneva shore (Mont-Blanc and Jardin Anglais piers), running daily 25 April to 11 October 2026 with up to 6 departures a day; the audio guide is a free app in four languages. It is free with the Geneva City Pass (Geneva Tourism); the CGN page does not say whether Swiss Travel Pass covers this loop cruise, so ask before boarding. Price read on the official site.

Salève Cable Car

Adult return ticket (one-way €13), valid for both legs on the same day; the 2026 fares run from 17 January to 1 November. Concession fares (€13 return) apply to Swisspass subscribers and GA / Half-Fare travelcard holders, and the Geneva City Pass includes the ride. The site is across the French border and prices are in euros. Price read on the official site.

Jet d'Eau
FreeGeneva's 140 m lake fountain
Viewing from the lakeshore is free; the city notes that paid guided visits are run separately by SIG, the utility that operates it. Weather can pause the jet (strong wind or freezing temperatures), so check before planning a special trip. Access rule read on the official Ville de Genève page.
